Angel Hair and Stuff

I’ve been a bit lazy about making dinner lately, in that I haven’t been getting around to trying new recipes. So I’ve been making simple things, with the occasional improvisation. Tonight was one of those nights.

Start with angel hair pasta, and while it’s cooking, heat up some garlic-marinated shrimp (cooked) and some straw mushrooms. When the pasta’s ready, mix it up with some Japanese pasta seasoning (salmon, in this case), and then add the shrimp and mushrooms. Ta da!

I had to use both seasoning packets to give it enough flavor, and sadly, the shrimp tasted a bit lemony. But that aside, it was decent. :)

Here’s a picture of the seasoning package, to show what I used. (Yes, Bulldog is the brand name.)

Observations

Library book sales are good places to find cheap books, but it’s better if you don’t have to be butt-to-butt with strangers while browsing books. (Please move the tables further apart, people.)

Downtown Los Altos smells like mayonnaise. (Or at least the parking lot near Los Altos Grill did this morning.)

There’s apparently a run on hand sanitizer going on (swine flu!), because a number of stores near me were totally out of it.

The nice birds that tried to make a nest on my balcony rafter (I told them it wasn’t a good idea), apparently think my flower pots are full of food I left out for them.

Young boys who live in my apartment complex think it’s ok to block my way by humping one another on a skateboard in the middle of the sidewalk. (Yes, seriously.)
